Your Week Ahead in Warrenville: July 6 - 12
The Fourth was a good one, Warrenville. Now the town settles into that easy mid-summer rhythm: free morning programs for the kids, live music on Wednesday night, and a picnic to cap the week. Here is what is on the calendar. As always, details can change, so give the official link a quick check before you head out.
Monday, July 6: Storytime at Cerny Park
Ease back into the week with a free all-ages Storytime at the Cerny Park Pavilion at 10:00 in the morning. Storytimes sometimes move indoors to the library with the weather, so check first.
Tuesday, July 7: Park Pop-Up at Lions Park
The Park District's traveling Park Pop-Up lands at Lions Park from 9:30 to 10:30. Free games and activities, no sign-up needed. Just show up and play.
Wednesday, July 8: Concerts on the Commons
The library's free concert series is back after the holiday week, with the Abby Kay Band at Bob Walters Commons from 7:00 to 8:30. Pack a picnic and a lawn chair, and keep an eye out for the food truck. The easiest good night out in town.
Thursday, July 9: screenings by day, history by night
In the morning, the library hosts free developmental screenings for children ages 2 months to 5 years, from 10:00 to noon. In the evening, adults can catch Voices of 1776 at 7:00, a Revolutionary-era history program that lands nicely in the week after the Fourth.
Friday, July 10: Let's Dance
Kids ages 6 to 8 can shake out some Friday energy at the library's Let's Dance program, 10:45 to 11:15 in the morning.
Saturday, July 11: Picnic in the Park
Wrap the week at Summerlakes Park with the community Picnic in the Park from 11:30 to 1:00. Games, food, and neighbors enjoying a summer Saturday together. Bring a blanket and come say hi.
Looking ahead
Next Thursday, July 16, is a double feature: the library screens The Big Lebowski for the grown-ups at 6:00, and Summer Movies in the Park shows Mufasa at Cerny Park as the sun goes down. And Summer Daze (August 7 and 8) is now just a month out.
That is the week. Get outside, catch some music, and we will see you around town.
