Your Week Ahead in Warrenville: July 13 - 19
Welcome to the middle of July, Warrenville. This is the easy stretch of summer: free morning fun for the kids, live music on Wednesday night, and a Thursday with two ways to catch a movie. Here is what is on the calendar this week. As always, details can shift, so give the official link a quick check before you head out.
Tuesday, July 14: Park Pop-Up at Sesqui Park
The Park District's traveling Park Pop-Up sets up at Sesqui Park from 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning. Free games and activities, no sign-up needed. Just show up and let the kids play.
Wednesday, July 15: Concerts on the Commons
The library's free concert series rolls on with Billy Elton at Bob Walters Commons from 7:00 to 8:30, a tribute night for the Elton John and Billy Joel songbook. Pack a picnic and a lawn chair (no alcohol, please), and watch for a food truck. One of the best free nights out all summer.
Thursday, July 16: a movie double feature
Take your pick, or do both. In the evening, the library screens the cult classic The Big Lebowski for ages 18 and up at 6:00, with a discussion after. Then, as the sun goes down, Summer Movies in the Park shows Mufasa at Cerny Park. Spread out a blanket, bring some snacks, and settle in under the stars.
Saturday, July 18: free screenings at the library
The library offers free all-ages speech, language, and social skills screenings from noon to 3:00. Drop in for a quick, no-cost check with a professional.
Looking ahead
Next week keeps the rhythm going: a Park Pop-Up at Kiwanis Park on Tuesday, July 21, and Latin Swing Factor on the Commons on Wednesday, July 22. And keep circling August 7 and 8, when Summer Daze brings the whole town together.
That is the week. Get outside, catch some music, and we will see you around town.
