Week Ahead

Your Week Ahead in Warrenville: Sep 7 - Sep 13

Happy Labor Day, Warrenville. The week starts slow and quiet, then builds to one of the best weekends on the whole town calendar. Here is what is coming, day by day. As always, confirm times with the organizer before you head out, since details can change.

Monday, September 7: Labor Day

City offices and the police department lobby are closed for the holiday. A good day for the trail, the grill, or absolutely nothing. Details are on the city calendar.

Tuesday, September 8: Board Game Night

The library hosts Board Game Night from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, featuring the storytelling card game Once Upon a Time. No experience needed, and it is a friendly crowd. Info at the library events page.

Wednesday, September 9: Read to a Therapy Animal

Young readers can practice out loud with a patient, furry listener from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the library. It is a sweet confidence builder for kids who are still warming up to reading. Sign up through the library.

Thursday, September 10: The Codebreaker and the POW

A free evening history talk at the library from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, telling a true World War II story of hidden codes in letters home. Details at the library events page.

Saturday, September 12: Community Resource Fair

From 10:00 AM to noon, the library gathers local organizations and services under one roof. If you have ever wondered what help and programs exist around town, this is the easy way to find out. More at the library.

Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13: Art on the Prairie

The headliner of the week. The Park District's annual fine art fair returns to the Recreation Center, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM both days, with dozens of artists, demonstrations, and family activities. It is free to attend and worth the trip even if you just browse. Full details from the Warrenville Park District.

Looking ahead

Next week brings Puzzle Palooza: Adult Edition at the Rec Center on Friday, September 18, and Family Nerf Night on Saturday, September 19. Mark the calendar now and we will see you around town.
